Managed to watch the Phantom of the Opera movie today. Great settings. The opera house is absolutely marvelous. The music is superb. A setting that I love most is when the crystal chandelier was lighted up. Wow! I’m having difficulty to categorize if this musical is really a serious movie. I guess, I just enjoy it simply as a musical. I love Moulin Rouge more
But will do read up on complete plot from bibliomania.

It is an awful tragedy that can’t be expressed through words – a reminder of the frailty of human lives. And may at this worst of time, the best of humanity appeared.

Flickr
Thursday, December 23rd, 2004I finally utilize my Flickr account. Flickr is an online photo sharing service – with attitude. I can write comments, and add notes in the images. I can add other flickr accounts as my contacts, and join similar interest group, so that I can post my picture there. It feels like one stop photo service. A nifty bonus is RSS support which will notify me for any new images.
I’m impressed with Flickr’s organizr. It is a good example of Rich Internet Application – you can drag and drop images to organize pictures into sets without many page refresh. It really brings great experience, because organizing pictures become really fun!
I must admit that with so many features, Flickr is a bit tricky to use. Occasionally, I have to think which menu that I have to click, especially since the navigation exist in top, right and bottom of the page. Nevertheless, my Yahoo! Photo might get abandoned, once I be able to use it fully.
Last word: Salon has an article about Flickr. You’ve got to see an advertisement before reading it tho.
Laverna Musical 2004
Sunday, December 19th, 2004Update: My movabletype system works perfectly fine now after some major glitch – thanks to great service from my hosting provider (FocusHub). Few days ago, I lost all my data, and luckily they have the backup ready. They also solve problem of cgi-bin error. So, credit to them.
That’s partially explain why I do not blog that often anymore. I’m involved in our church christmas party. Our choir is doing a short musical, with 5 songs: “it’s christmas time”, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year”, “grown up christmas wish”, “gather round this table”, “come to us, Emmanuel”. and “The magic of christmas day”. The schedule was tight – just about 2 weeks. We took about (pretty long) 7 practices. But it’s all worth it. The performance was smooth (just a minor sound system problems, too bad). The dinner was pretty good – mutton, chicken and turkey (plus log cakes). Well, now that it’s over, I shall prepare myself for the magical christmas spirit. Yeah.
Update part 2: still have bug on my commenting system. Gee.
Updates
Sunday, December 5th, 2004Time for short updates
I participated in Halo Contest, to build RIA using Flash (You can access my Halo2RSS entry here). It standard RSS document and process it so that the player can find out how many times he/she has played against (or with) other players, and to find out how good (or bad) the person is. The purpose is to identify potential team-mates or enemy.
On the personal notes, I increasingly “hooked” on delicious. I’m currently building up my library of resources there. I prefer to “blog” interesting links there, and trust me, I found lots of new websites there.
Currently playing around with lots of new toys – somehow find a number of bugs
– My Olympus Camedia C370 snaps are blurry, my Microsoft Intellimouse needs tapes to make it balanced. Luckily, my Targus bag and toaster works great ^-^ Finally, today’s recollection day are really exciting, fun, and inspiring.
